| Today should be exciting - hanging out at Lauren's
with her Philly folks. Cannot wait to be back at school.
Suggested literature: Ghost Rider by Neil Peart
I would especially like to suggest the
aforementioned book to anyone who feels they've experienced a great
loss in life. I've been extraordinarily lucky in that regard,
however i still found the book whitty and insightful.
In a general sense, Ghost Rider is an
autobiographical work about Neil Peart's struggle to find a reason not
to commit suicide after the death of his daughter in a sudden car
crash, and the death of his wife from cancer six months later.
Peart takes a journey from his home on a lake in Canada, down to
Belize, and back again to find solace while contemplating the beauty of
nature, and as he slowly and painfully realizes, the duality of both
beauty and sloth inherent to human nature.
If you've ever muttered the words "How can life be
so unfair?", or "Why me?", then this book may help you make sense of
your life. Also, for Rush fans, it's a great oppurtunity to look
into the psyche of the greatest rock drummer to have ever lived, and
find a deeper meaning for music from their latest original album vapor
trails (which is why I've been reading it fanatically lately - two
times over).
Here are lyrics inspired by the journey. If
you can relate to them then I would truly suggest engaging in the
therapy that is Ghost Rider.
Pack up all those phantoms Shoulder that invisible load Keep on riding North and West Haunting that wilderness road Like a ghost rider
Carry all those phantoms Through bitter wind and stormy skies From the desert to the mountain From the lowest low to the highest high Like a ghost rider
Keep on riding North and West Then circle South and East Show me beauty but there is no peace For the ghost rider
Shadows on the road behind Shadows on the road ahead Nothing can stop you now
There's a shadow on the road behind There's a shadow on the road ahead Nothing can stop you now
Sunrise in the mirror Lightens that invisible load Riding on a nameless quest Haunting that wilderness road Like a ghost rider
Just an escape artist Racing against the night A wandering hermit Racing toward the light
From the white sands To the canyon lands To the redwood stands To the barren lands
Sunrise on the road behind Sunset on the road ahead There's nothing to stop you now Nothing can stop you now

I hope all of you can overcome the phantoms in your
life. I hope you never feel like a ghost or face an existential
vaccuum. For those of you suffering - i hope you find the exit
onto your own personal healing road.
We can attack the day like birds of prey, or scavengers undercover.

| Married...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Poor, clueless son of a bitch.
Anywho, I believe Albert Einstein may be the second greatest human to
have ever lived. I was looking up some of his quotes. If
his life and mentality aren't proof that science and religion are
fundamentally similar ideas, then i don't know what is.
i.e
To
know that what is impenetrable to us really exists, manifesting itself
as the highest wisdom and the most radiant beauty, which our dull
faculties can comprehend only in their most primitive forms this
knowledge, this feeling, is at the center of true religiousness. In
this sense, and in this sense only, I belong to the rank of devoutly
religious men.
and
Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.
and, though these don't have anything directly to do with
religion, I'm going to throw them in because this is my xanga and the
man was a genius.
He
who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my
contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the
spinal cord would fully suffice. This disgrace to civilization should
be done away with at once. Heroism at command, senseless brutality,
deplorable loce-of-country stance, how violently I hate all
this, how despicable and ignoble war is; I would rather be torn to
shreds than be a part of so base an action! It is my conviction that
killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder.
The problems that exist in the world today cannot be solved by the level of thinking that created them.
Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a persistent one.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.
Later folks
